Our Mission
Sparks Service Dogs was created to help people who have had a change in their mobility ability over their lifetime. The goal of Sparks Service Dogs is to help people who feel they have lost some of their independence by providing them with service dogs at no cost. Service dogs allow individuals to regain independence by helping their recipient perform tasks that may be difficult or impossible for someone with injuries or illness.
Besides service dogs, we also provide facility dogs to organizations in Minnesota who have a desire to add a facility dog to their programs. Facility dogs, though similar to therapy dogs, are assigned to a single facility or a small group of facilities, such as schools, hospitals, nursing homes or similar and provide support to patients and/or staff.
